PostIQ Beta
The calendar companion for Buffer

Buffer publishes. PostIQ plans.

Your posts are scheduled. Is your content actually planned? PostIQ shows what’s coming, spots the open slots, and holds the ideas and to-dos that aren’t ready to publish yet.

Buffer sign-in loads your scheduled posts and enables Buffer actions. Free during public beta. One of the earliest companion apps built on Buffer’s public API. Independent; not endorsed by Buffer.

How it works

Buffer keeps posting. You keep the plan.

Most content gaps aren’t a publishing problem. They’re a planning one: ideas sit in notes, to-dos sit somewhere else, and the thin days go unnoticed. PostIQ puts them on one calendar beside your queue.

01

Connect Buffer

Sign in and PostIQ loads your channels and scheduled queue. Nothing is sent to Buffer until you choose an action.

02

See the gaps

Open slots appear on the posting days you choose, so you can spot the thin parts of the week at a glance.

03

Fill or plan

Fill a slot from the Shelf in one tap, or add a note, to-do, or idea. Send to Buffer when you’re ready.

See it for yourself

Go ahead. Plan something.

Drag a plan to another day, fill an open slot from the Shelf in one tap, or add something in plain English, then Undo. This sample never touches Buffer.

Want your own week? Preview the calendar without connecting Buffer. Your local planning work stays in this browser.

One-tap planning

See the whole plan. Not just the scheduled posts.

The Today card brings today’s posts and to-dos into view. A dashed open slot can suggest a starred evergreen post, so you can fill a gap without starting from zero.

  • Solid cards are confirmed Buffer posts; outlined cards are your plans
  • Quick add understands “Fri: film B-roll” and “todo tomorrow: review captions”
  • Drag to reschedule, with Undo if you change your mind

Room for ideas

Keep the ideas that aren’t ready yet.

Keep past posts and ideas on the Shelf. Give an idea a target date to see it beside the rest of your calendar; it stays clearly marked as not scheduled. Holidays, backups, and calendar exports are close at hand in the menu.

  • Star evergreen posts for one-tap fill suggestions
  • Download or restore a backup of your local planning work
  • Export notes and plans to your calendar app

Your Buffer connection

You decide every Buffer action.

PostIQ uses Buffer’s public API with OAuth (PKCE). When you sign in, it can:

  • Read your channels, scheduled queue and recent posts
  • Create a draft, queue a post or schedule one only when you choose that action
  • Leave existing Buffer posts alone when you change plans, rhythms or days off
  • Disconnect from PostIQ settings, or revoke access in Buffer, at any time

An independent product

PostIQ is built and run by one person on Buffer’s public API. It is independent and not endorsed by Buffer. Buffer remains your publishing home. Buffer also featured PostIQ as an example app in its Buffer Commit contest.

I’m a social media strategist. Across my career I’ve grown social audiences past 6M+ followers combined, most of it at the San Antonio Zoo. PostIQ began as the planning tools I used alongside Buffer, and it’s now a public beta for other people who plan around a Buffer queue.
