PostIQ is a free public beta companion workspace for Buffer users. It helps you plan your queue, compose content, review work, create snapshots, and publish through Buffer when you choose to connect your account.
This page explains the information PostIQ uses during the beta and how that information is handled.
1. Buffer connection
When you sign in with Buffer, PostIQ uses that connection to sync your channels, read scheduled posts, and perform publishing actions you request from the app.
OAuth tokens for your Buffer connection are stored in your browser so the app can keep your connection active across refreshes when the token is still valid. PostIQ does not sell or share those tokens.
You can disconnect Buffer from inside PostIQ. You can also revoke access from your Buffer account settings.
2. Browser storage
PostIQ stores some workspace data locally in your browser. This may include calendar notes, templates, planning settings, cached Buffer channel details, and other local planning data.
Clearing your browser storage may remove this local PostIQ data and may require you to reconnect Buffer.
3. Netlify Functions and app services
Some requests may pass through Netlify Functions so PostIQ can communicate with Buffer or supporting app services. These requests are used to operate the feature you are using, such as syncing Buffer data or publishing content.
PostIQ does not add a separate user-account database for this public beta.
4. Shared snapshots
Snapshot links are static share pages. Anyone with the link can view the content included in that snapshot, so only create and share snapshots with information you are comfortable sharing.
Snapshots may include scheduled post text, dates, notes you add, media URLs, custom titles, and other content you choose to include.
5. Feature flags and configuration
PostIQ may use feature flags or configuration files to turn beta features on or off. Those flags and configuration values do not collect personal data.
6. Public pages and analytics
Public pages may use basic analytics to understand page visits and improve the beta. PostIQ does not use analytics to sell personal information.
7. Third-party services
PostIQ may interact with Buffer, Netlify, analytics providers if enabled, and media hosting services if you include external media URLs. Those services have their own privacy practices.
8. Your choices
- Use PostIQ without connecting Buffer.
- Disconnect Buffer in PostIQ when you no longer want the app connected.
- Clear browser storage to remove local planning data and stored connection fields.
- Revoke PostIQ access from your Buffer account settings.
- Avoid creating snapshot links for content you do not want others to view.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated as PostIQ moves through public beta and adds or changes features.
